Emergent Complexities in Infinite Spaces

We can define spaces for exploration. The echoes of the past are continuously recontextualized for the future. We build on our stories, on our understandings of what is and was. We learn from our experiences. We sometimes borrow from our interactions, from those traits we find endearing in others and the opposite too. Perhaps a mirror is transparent and we pass through every night into another layer of the same composition. We understand new and old, past and present differently at each checkpoint.

In Emergent Complexities in Infinite Spaces I used new methods to explore some of the early concepts, drawings, ideas from my adventures in Peru. These concepts were first displayed at "Art is a Product" a show which opened 3-19-2015 and ran for about 30 days. I chose to expand upon drawings done while in Peru taking them to new depths with both additional insight and methods.

I expanded upon the modular frame concepts that were used in earlier show "Art is for Everyone" and later at Cali Commons (Swap frames) to create a frame that allowed me to play with physically layering compositions. These new "Stack" frames allow me to play with composition layers and depth in a new way. It is my hope that these prototypes will eventually be presented for use by other artists at Cali Commons (or other venues).
